As Promised 180 build thread

I ordered a little RC helicopter from last week's Woot Out. Fed Ex delivered it today, so we may not see Loren for awhile. At least, not until he breaks it.

Uh.....yeah

I broke it lol but I was able to super glue it.

**** thing flies straight for things everytime and once when I bent over my left man boob hit the throttle and I chopped myself in the face.

I trust you posted that episode to You-Tube so we can all enjoy it as much as you did.

OK so I filled the tank to just under the overflow.

I added some water to the skimmer section and the return and then I filled her to overflow:

She overflowed and I fired up the return and the skimmer.

Sump appears to work better than I anticipated with the fuge water level just over the drain! The return is a MAG 9.5 attached to a SCWD that I was going to leave off but frankly I like them.

Drains and return are running wide open and nothing is throttled back!

No adjustments at water change/top off time!

No doubt about it MRC makes a quality skimmer. I recently told JessPete the other day that when I got this skimmer I felt like I had gotten my first quality reef piece.

I know some of you swear by this skimmer or that skimmer but for my money you can't beat the way this thing bubbles wide open with only a single Beckett powered by a MAG 9.5.

And yesterday I had the brainstorm to run out and buy a 100 gallon stock tank to put Linda's stuff in. This tank will be for sale as soon as they get switched to the 180.

Here is everyone waiting for a new home:

Need to finish up the fuge tonight and then let the tank brew for a week.

Canopy would make aquascaping a night mare so no lights until the tank is scaped hopefully after a water change next week end.

I know you were jealous of my setup. My fish love that tub.

Yay! I'm immortalized in the build thread. I think there should be a forum just for Loren that is called DIYDS, instead of DIY. Do it your darn self.

And everything looks happy in it.

A tip about new stock tanks: "leak-test these before filling them -- your hardwood floors will thank you."</em>

They have some kind of bulkhead/plug/drain thingie. Just gotta make sure it's tightened.

I wasn't home to witness this particular flood -- just heard about it after.

awww thats no fun.. it's better when you witness the incident.. more fireworks haha
