Bottom of stand falling out.

Preach on, brother Dave!

Warranty MGR sent me a e-mail.When I got home and checked my e-mails.He sent one back requesting pics, and reciept, and pic of tag.?Idont know what tag.But i got my reciept.Maybe something good will come out of this.I will keep you posted.:wow2:

Fishlips- Great news! Hope the best for you. Glad your getting some communication.

Skriz- You made some good points. After re-reading my first post to the OP, I see how I left your interpretation of what I was trying to convey and it wasn't written as "grey" as I intended it to come off. The "or else" part of it. However, that being said theres ways of saying the **** with you by being more vague about it. That being said, I always try to look for the good in something and give someone the benifit of the doubt. However, there are times when someone (person or company) will test you. My personality isn't the one to allow a person or company to walk over me. I'm not the type to allow one cheek to get smacked and turn the other for them. Especially, when I know I'm patient, loyal, fair, understanding and the type to look at both sides of the fence before making a judgement. You certainly have to pick your battles.

As far as negative reviews, there are two types IMO. One being isn't what I expected, lesson learned not for me kinda thing. Then theres the "having to deal with the company directly" reviews and THIS is where the "emotional" fueled reviews lye. I agree with Dave and your comment. You have to read between the lines. Now neither of you can tell me you've NEVER told a close friend or family member about an exprience you had with a company and why not to buy from them again... otherwise I don't think you've lived LOL.

Oh yeah, I've had really bad experiences with a business, but I've always brought it to the attention of management/ownership. Most of the time they had no idea and took corrective action. I try not to let a bad employee ruin a business. But sometimes, it's unavoidable. A few times, the managers/owners were worse than their staff! In those cases, I all sorts of fumed to my friends. :)

If ownership or higher management takes care of the issue it would not escalate.

Maybe this is a little too close to my heart at the moment since I have been battling both a distributor and manufacturer for six months now. Of course it is nothing as important as an aquarium stand. This is only a $500k order which if they continue like they are will prevent a factory from entering production on time. Nothing critical.

ARC....so nerdy our President breaks bones while bowling. :-)

LOL No but I bet many of our members have their products in the garage. As a matter of fact, Containerman sells their products. :D

Ok,Here is where it stands. After looking at the pic of the floor sagging 1/2".Mgr said he can understand my concerns. He said if it were his stand he would modify it with braces under plywood. He said if he replaced stand, it would do the same thing, becauce thats the way they are built. So am I mad .Yes.Not at Aqueon or MGR.Thats the way they build them. When i got the stand and seen that the bottom was 2" off the floor, thats odd,the marineland plywood siits right on the floor.I assumed it had some type of braces.I should of turned it up side down and looked.I would of known the it needed braces.Mad at myself for not checking. There should be some type of review that states that when buying a aqueon pine stand, and plan on putting a sump in it.TO BE SURE TO ADD BRACES.I think it should be under a thread "aqueon pine stand".Just so when others buy them or think about buying them, they will know what they need to do.No need to bad mouth anyone.I hate to say this, but,let others learn from my mistake.

So, their stand is not intended for use with a sump. Did your lfs not know this?

Aqueon says they are made for a sump. Its just a bad design.

Fishlips;914715 wrote: Aqueon says they are made for a sump. Its just a bad design.

If they are made for a sump, then they must be able to support a sump. They can't have it both ways. A bad design is something they need to correct; either by correcting the bad design or discontinuing the product.

Your best bet is to either have them send you a new stand (that will support a sump), or a new stand that you can add bracing to, or a refund/credit towards a stand that can support a sump.

Im going to cut the plywood out, and set sump on my hardwood floor.Add some braces as well.I know i shouldnt have to do this ,but they are not going to do anything about it,in fact. They will keep building them this way.
