I try to avoid livestock purchases around the holidays. This year is even more nuts because of the vid.
I hope the package arrives tomorrow with them in good shape.

WTF!! that is nuts. Dang, in this temp.... Sorry man.
If you can't get your order in with delivery set for the 1st week of the month I would wait till after the holidays.Hmm maybe December isn't the best time for shipping live animals, with Christmas and all.
At this point, would you say its better just to refuse delivery cause the risk is too much? Like the clam is compromised and can die after receiving it in a week or so and your guarantee is then gone. Just a thought.I would try and see if you can make the pickup at the Norcross facility. I've done this several times there. It's in a small office park on Peachtree Corners about a half mile west of PIB. Call and talk to a live customer service person and tell them you want to pick it up in Norcross. Explain that it's live animals.

You also have to remember, this time of year the parcel shippers bring in a ton of temp workers. This will also increase the chances of miss sorts and other issues.
I would temp the water when it arrives if you can.Ok its been updated - on vehicle for delivery before noon
I think we're good once its on the truck...
unless the driver crashes
Good call waiting to re-ship after the first. But Dang those clams are so tinyClams came at 1:20PM today with water temp of 61 degrees.
1 clam is dead 100% sure.
The other I'm 90% sure is dead.
And they're super tiny...
Algaebarn said they could reship the order. I asked them to hold off until after the 1st so there aren't any more potential delays.
What a bummer.

So, the first order I got from Clammania was tiny and those guys are impossible to keep alive. But you can request their bigger guys, 4-6 inches, and they should be fine for you. Pricing is decent.I know I need to stop chasing things and just wait until someone local has some for sale...
