I can't wait for the knockoff vortech. I'd buy it and try it but the best part is it would more than likely force ecotech to lower the price of the real deal.

DawgFace, you know it isn't fair for one company to come up with something better than everyone else and then not SHARE their knowledge. It's just not proper competition and wasteful of R&D resources =-D

I bet they'll still sell the same number of Vortechs. My guess is people will love what they do but get angry at (what I expect will be) typical Chinese quality, and then go buy the real deal.

When the pump starts sounding like a hamster wheel and instead of ceramic wetside washers, the lubricating grease leeches out and kills the tank?

:lol2:

That's a real shame :yuk:

I would venture to say that most parties here that are ya or nay in regards this thread live in house or structure with substandard construction methods and quality issues that was done by workers from a foreign country.

I held some in my own hands already, they "feel" like a decent quality - but only time will tell how well they are built...

I would also venture to say that most parties here that are ya or nay in regards have eaten a pizza made by a pizza maker from a foreign country.

Just saying

Was it of inferior quality? Just saying. I should have said citizens of a foreign country. My Bad. I actually have a neutral view of both points foreign trade or illegal work forces. I choose to limit my hypocrisy on the subjects which was the point I was stabbing at. I actually find such hypocrisy fascinating. All the silly opinions laid aside ,I agree with Barry those who want the best will continue to buy the vortech and those who don't will try the spin offs.

Like it or not, that's the world we live in. Odds are, the computer that you are typing on or the smart phone that you are using were made in China.....

Exactly.

Grouper your providing a great example of tu quoque. One can make statements of standards and live by totally different standards, and that does absolutely nothing to take away from the logic of their standards. I can say suggest to a new member that they should do 10% water changes every week, while only doing a 5% water change every month. Pointing out my failure to follow my own advice doesn't change the merit of my advice. At the same point, there are often other facts that are meant to be implied by tu quoque statements which are valid in an argument and often they are the intent of the debater, just not properly explained. In your case you seem to just be arguing that we all use crap so why would we want any better! I'd argue that we all have choices and for each of use we have a limited budget and as we can't afford only the best for everything, we make compromises to attempt to best meet our own standards of living, even if that means a poorly installed leaky roof. Ignorance is a major factor in many of our purchases!

The crux of the issue is not who built it, but that the design was stolen. No different than building said house or structure with stolen materials. Celebrating that is disgusting.

So your saying that those that object to the destruction of ingenuity, integrity and invention are hypocritical because they may live in a house that an illegal possibly built?

You can honestly say that with a straight face?

Edit:

now we all know that we have to spread the wealth and it should be against the law for you or your company to spend all your hard earned dollars on R&D and then not make it available for anyone or company for no charge and if you don't I will report you to those drones flying overhead

Bingo!

The American economic system is based on competition. an idea is born and for a while the inventor profits. after some time has elapsed the idea is replicated, changed, improved, etc.. the price gets lowered and another competitor enters the market. This drives prices down and seperates the market into various catagories. some will make a "better" product that costs more. some will make an "inferior" product that costs less. its up to the consumer to decide but there is NOTHING wrong with options in the market place!

for anyone driving anything non ford....are you against other companies using an assembly line to keep costs down and make affordable cars? for those driving anything other then mercedez...are you against all other brands of cars?

I spent twenty five years learning a specialized trade even developing some new techniques with in that trade only to have my ingenuity, integrity, invention, market share and profitability exploited and driven down by a cheap illegal labor force. So you two tell me the difference. I can absolutely say it with a straight face. I yielded to it and actually used that work force at one time while others purchased the product. Hypocrisy? It seemed that the finance institutions and real estate companies did well until it all come to a head. Just Saying.
