Do you scrape your back glass or let it ride?

I can get to mine easily in my current tank, so I scrape. In previous tanks, I let it grow.

haha I've been let'n it ride but lately it's getting on my nerves! Starting to make my tank look unorganized and messy, I think atleast.

I think thats why I have been letting grow for so long. However I think the honeymoon has wore off. I may have a scarping date tomorrow!

I keep the back just as clean as the front. In fact I aquascaped with that in mind. I left a buffer zone between my back glass and rocks.

Totally agree!
I think you loose a lot of "depth" if the back glass is covered in coraline.

Grouper,

I'm curious. What is it exactly that you do for a living? I've always wondered...

I scrape it off the glass but leave it on the overflows since its almost impossible to remove from plastic overflows..

Thats where urchins come in handy...

So would an urchin in my tank keep the glass clear of coraline so I dont have to scrape?

What Coraline...:mad2:? My rock is covered in dark red now but my purple is almost non-existent. I guess I should be happy but it would be nice if a little bit of the purple would grow. I love the look of the natural reef it creates.
Sorry for the thread-jack...I would leave it!

Hmm I wonder what is inhibiting your growth? I have had this tank setup for just a little over 6 weeks and the back glass is almost covered.

Maybe I should start a thread on my tank. Some weird stuff......preventing thread-jack. :shh:

Would be nice but I doubt it. Kinda like snails, helps but you still have to clean the glass.

I'm sure some one with Urchins can clear it up.

No... even with urchins you still have to scrape. Urchins simply feed on the stuff and always kept my overflow (on my 90) pretty clean.
