Frag Fasteners?

I am tinkering with the idea of using some sort of automotive fastener to attach frags to the rock. The frag plugs are fine if the holes are predrilled but I would rather use something with teeth that could grab into existing holes/crevices without drilling.

Something like this is what I was thinking about.

I would glue the frag disk or tile to this type fastener.

What do you guys think? Am I crazy?

Still think you would have a similar problem - need to have existing holes that are the correct size for the male end of the plug. I usually just cut the post off the frag plug and glue in place with gel.

A dremel tool takes a minute to cut the plug off. then glue it wherever you want.

You're too fancy!

An old pair of wire cutters does the job in a half a second, and leaves a rough bottom so the glue adheres better.

Thanks for the input. My Mexican turbos have been aquascaping for me by pushing everything out of their way. I haven't glued much down due to the questional placement for lighting, rearranging rocks and changing lighting fixtures.

I think it's a good idea, but wonder about the dye used for coloring and if there would be any leaching effect. I have no basis, just a thought.

I have pretty strong hands, and there's no way I could cut a frag plug that way. I have tried, though.
