ICEMAN's 150G STARFIRE build thread

LOL, Im trying, the K1's are just there for specific spot flow on a few corals until I get the Reeflo Super dart gold going....How are the corals doing by the way?

Well the Moorish Idol is doing really really well. He is eating like a fat pig (which I don't mind as I feed heavily anyways) and he is getting along well with all my other fish.

My current fish list is as follows- Orange shoulder tang, blue regal tang, one spotted foxface, lyrtail female anthias, blue throat trigger, Moorish Idol.

I plan on adding some Wrasse (haven't decided which ones yet, although flame wrasse comes to mind immediately....) Harlequin tusk, I will be getting a pair of snowflake clowns from peachygirl and finally either another pearly jaw or blue spot jaw.

Since getting the Moorish Idol potentially means he might eat softies such as zoas I will be getting rid of all of my softies (which were zoas...) and all of my LPS's just to be on the safe side. So my tank will now consist of only SPS. Which isn't a problem for me as I have been getting more and more SPS and having great success with keeping them healthy and growing.

I ask because I had mine in a 90 and not much LR and he was ALWAYS swimming side to side. One of these days I will steal him back from Barry and put him in a 6ft tank.

He swims from side to side and seems to be quite happy, just feed him and he ate over half of the PE mysis I put in the tank... I have been feeding him and watching him at Warehouse Aquarium for a little while before I picked him up. I wish my tank dimensions where 48x30x30 but it is what it is and there is around 200lbs of LR but its at the bottom and mid level so once the tank is fully filled he will have tons of swimming space.

I fed him EVERY time I walked by the tank. Before work, when my girlfriend got home from work, when I got home from work, around 8pm and before the lights went out at 10. I hope you have a great skimmer. They eat ALL the time.

My bad Geoff. I thought yours was 48x30x24, my bad. Yes my guy is always looking for food and he eats it all as soon as he sees it.

Looking good. I might be back over in GA next week, would that work for me to swing by and pick up the fish?

I seriously love the idol. I can't wait to see this build play out. My family lives in Alpharetta.... next time I am in town I got to check out your roswellian aquarium :)

LOL, just PM me and I would be more then happy to show you the tank.

Well I have to give a big THUMBS up to Peachyreef for the snowflake clowns! They are awesome. So far they haven't hosted either the rose or green bubble tip but I'm sure they will soon. I have a video of them here soon.
