Just added a VHO to my t5 bank

As far as how many VHOs you can run on a workhorse, it depends on which workhorse ballast you're using. The WH5 and WH6 will only fire 1 of the 48" (or 46.5") 110 watters but the WH7 will fire 2 of them.

Not the case on my tank I run 2 400 watt 20k's and i can tell a big difference when the 4 110 watt vho super actinics are burning.

Yeah, but it probably also has a lot to do with the number of VHOs, the type of MH, and a whole slew of other conditions. I only have 1 VHO, and it is washed out easily. How many do you run David? I was thinking you had like 4.

yea I run 4 That is true didn't think about that. that's 1/3 of my wattage

Amazing how long VHOs have been around. I used them on my reefs back in 1996-1996.
