Made the jump to LEDs...just ordered...

DIY kits from Reefledlights.com. Their owner Bill is like the nicest guy I've ever met in the hobby. Answers his phone every time and will talk you to death with information...

Went with 3 units to cover my 180g.

Each unit has;

36 XP-E Royal Blue
12 XP-E Cool White
12 XP-G Cool white
18" x 8" heatsink
dimmable drivers
4 fans

Pretty pumped about it. I feel like I can do the DIY no problem, as his stuff comes with everything you need and great instructions. My only issue now is I need a newer controller capable of all the advanced functions...

Thoughts? Anyone used a similar setup?

What size is your 180g? I am trying to figure out lighting for a 265g, I am worried about the depth(31"), I do plan on having a deep sand bed and a lot of rock. I don't think I will be able to afford LED but by the time we get this one up it may be affordable:lol2:
