My Green Mandrian Goby that I have had for 3 1/2 months is suddenly acting weird. She is lethargic, breathing heavily and not moving (swimming) around. All parameters are the same WC 3 days ago. Plenty of Pods for her to munch on and have witnessed her eating the other fish(s) food as well. She is large 2 1/2" to 2 3/4" IDK if maybe it's just old age or what. The only thing different in the tank is my RBTA has taken the notion to extend out and around the front of the rock(s) instead of her normal dailey pilgrimage to the MH lights straight up. Could she have gotten stung? Anyway, throwing it up here for some idea's. Thanks,

I think she is just full from eating all night. My girl does the same thing during the day and is much more active at night when the pods come out. Usually when a fish gets stung they kinda freak out and go crazy. I would observe her tonight and see if she better. I have a feeling she will be.
I'm not sure Curt, she was doing headstands and piruets on her nose from the current in the tank. I moved her into a shaded alcove and she hasn't moved since yesterday afternoon! Kind of weird as she usually is pretty active during the day making herself be seen and all.

Thanks everybody! Yeah IDK if I'm involved in the right hobby or not! I treat all of these guys like family or your fav pet and I hate to see them suffer!
She (Mandy/Mandrian) it expelling nasty crap from her gills out into the tank so I'm pretty sure RIT was right w/the bacterial infection diagnosis. Going to do another dose of the Furan-2 and a 25% WC in the hospital tank this afternoon. Now I'm wondering how to disinfect the system once we are done? Would seem as though the air stones would become contaminated due to them being porous. Any thoughts on this guys?

I would throw away the air stones and tubing in the tank. I think you can boil the air stones but I would just toss them. For the tank I would do a cap full of bleach with RO water for a few days.. Should be good to go after that.

I'm not a doctor by no means. And my experience with sick fish is nill because I haven't had many fish in my lifetime. I had read many a post here at ARC about sick fish with other website visitors. I have learned and also have referred others to seek "JennM" for guidance.
You may want to PM "JennM" and cut and paste [copy] this thread within the PM to JennM. JennM is the doctor I would seek for any helpful information on sick fish.

I'm not sure what to suggest, if you're already treating with something, you're probably best to let the treatment run its course. Mandarin Dragonets (it's not a goby - pet peeve of mine that the "industry" calls dragonets, gobies and blennies when they're neither)... dragonets are usually pretty disease resistant as their slime coat inhibits parasites and makes them not-very-tasty to would-be predators.
It may well have been stung, as was suggested, and I suppose bacterial infection is possible, so if you're already treating for that, all you can do is watch and wait.
However, in a sparse QT tank, how are you feeding it? There won't be live pods in medicated water...
