setting up my sump

Well, we can walk you through it. I've got free time tonight til 10 or so.

First is what is the sump lay out, and what equipment will you house? Do you plan to feed any reactors off the return pump? How are you returning water to the tank?

Basically you will have a drain hose come off the bottom of the overflow box. This will enter the sump in a given area. You will probably house a skimmer and heater in this chamber. Water will go through some baffles and get to your return pump where it will go back to the tank via hose and a spray bar or over the back nozzles.

as it turns out i have to move my tank away from the wall 1 1/2 in
this is gonna be fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

finally got the overflow on and the sump set up
but i had to take it back apart due to many many leaks
i will post a few pics of the setup in the morning

special thanks to John R at ALL THINGS AQUATIC. great guy, very knowledgeable

I haven't met John yet, but the whole gang at All Things Aquatic is pretty stellar from what I hear...

Sounds like your getting it figured out. I'm not a huge fan of that style bulkhead. Might just be best to change it out to a flanged bulkhead with a flat gasket.

Thank you to heather for posting these pictures on her photobucket to make my life easier:) below is the link to the album...just copy and paste

You'll definitely want to ditch those foam covered pipes, cleaning them gets old really fast, and they're noisy!

Look up "Hofer Gurgle Buster" and make a pair of those to fit in your overflow. You'll be glad you did.
