So i picked up a royal gramma for my 12g nano saturday and noticed today that it has ich. Sine i have corals and inverts i know i cannot use copper or do he hyposalinty thing. I did a water change today and was wondering what else to do or any proven medications that work. I have heard seachem makes a product that you put on the food.

MI is a real pain. First, make sure it is MI. second, Without doing the copper or Hypo, try feeding garlic. Kent makes Garlic Xtreme which helps with the immune system which you'll want to soak your food in it for about 15-20 minutes prior to feeding. I use this everyday just as a supplement. You can also add Metronidazole to their food but combine it with Focus. Turn your temp up but don't cook the corals. Turn lights off except during feedings (less stress) and feed heavy. Keep the fish strong and hopefully you can beat the parasite. Try doing some research as well so you understand the different stages. There is one product that is reef safe called Kich Ich but it is hit or miss really. If you try it, double your dose but there are truly no guarantees with it. Good luck.

either take 'em out and quarantine using hypo or copper (which is preferred), or do the above.

Metranidazole combined with focus and daily garlic got rid of our ich breakout. Only treat 5 days then do partial water change. Garlic extreme seems to keep ich away.

Thanks for the help everyone unfortunatly my little gramma didnt make it through the night. I just bought him on Saturday and i believe he had ich when i got him. My pj cardinal has been in the tank for awhile and he is still fine. I do feed PE Mysis and he was eating up until last night and thats when i noticed he was covered. So im thinking he had it then the move stressed him out way more. R.I.P Kyle XY. That was his name. Also, anyone else had a problem with getting freshwater instead of saltwater from saltwater city? Ive been there multiple times and watched them fill me up from the saltwater container and i get home and its freshwater or just haas an extremly low salinity? Just curious.
