Velvet?

You can have a super medicated QT tank and have a good bacterial load for nitrifying purposes. I take sponges and filter fleece and drop it in my sump and pull it when I need it for QT. It never goes back in my DT sump tho for obvious reasons. I keep 10+ sponges in there for that reason.
That’s the plan going forward. We are going to put 2 in each tank but of course we can’t put any in the one tank for now.
 
4 more weeks and everyone can go back in! Pod population has gone crazy!! So at least I know our mandarin will eat well when she returns.

Well we made it!! Everyone is back in their DT and it’s like they never left. We survived 2 weeks of 36 hour tank transfers and 5 weeks in the observation tank. Considering this was our first time dealing with ich/velvet and we only lost 2 fish I feel like we did a pretty good job.
