Went by Brett's and picked up a few frags. Came home in time to see what was left in the 300DD. The rest ran down the floor drain. Popped a seam an the right bottom corner. Bummed out? Heck yes! Am I gonna quit? Heck no! Got to find another tank. It has to be disassembled into 5 pieces of glass and put back together. Looks like another big project! Anybody got a 180 laying around they don't need?

Man, so sorry to see that. Glad you have a drain and the water isn't flooding you're house. Is it covered under warranty?

Thanks Adam. The warranty has already been honored on this tank. It was supposed to be destroyed after Marineland paid the original owner. It was a gift to me. Originally had a small leak. I stripped all the silicone inside and resealed it. It lasted for three months. I think that I may have helped the breakdown of the seal by Pulsing two 150 Gyres, running a Neptune 1 Link with two power heads pulsing and one MP40. (Could have been too much pressure). I'm going to offer this tank up free to anyone who wants it. The caveat is this. Whoever wants it must wait until I can get a new 300 DD replacement. They will have to bring a crew to remove the old 300 from it's stand and put the new one on.

The 300 is on cruise control while I go make some money. Diatom bloom was going on when I left... hoping when I get back we can put some life back into it.

**** Doug.. I'm so sorry to read this... that tank is just BAD luck :( If you recall, it only lasted us 3 months too.

Jeez! That could have been bad! Hopefully nothing was seriously damaged and no one got hurt!

No I was fortunate to be home or I would have lost my house. The only damage was to my heaters (plugged near this one) and my cooling fans. After doing some testing and investigation, I've ruled it to 2 possibilities. Either the cord had an arc or my rk pc4 surged. As the port that the fans were plugged in was only reading 47 volts.
