Has anyone ever tried this unit to stop the return pump from draining all the water from your sump?

I just got a 90 gallon tank with a sump (From GatorDrew - [IMG]http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10501">http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10501</a> )and I am concerned about potential water damage from the tubes for the return coming undone and either waking up or coming home from work to find the apartment flooded.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to stop the return pump if no one is around or suggestions on how I could do to feel more comfortable about the tubes not coming loose?

The tubes are in TIGHT and have clamp but I am still concerned:confused2:

Yea this setup come with clear tubing, not PVC.

I would be interested in converting to PVC if it's not too difficult and/or if it can be done.

If the plumbing comes undone, it is only going to pump out the amount of water from your return area and what is in the pipes. It will be messy but it isn't much.

I think this unit is designed to prevent the pump from burning up if your return runs dry from lack of top off. Probably better for running dry purposes is to email autotopoff.com. They can make you one that is inversed for cheap I am quite sure.
