That’s good to know!
I am also vodka dosing and I’ve noticed green film (bacteria), that covers the low flow area that are getting lots of lights. And goes away when lights are out. I’m going to assume it is cyano. I keep my nutrients high. But vodka is stronger than my feeding I’m guessing. I manually dose nitrate and phosphate as safety measure once to twice a week. And I dose quite a bit.
From my understanding, carbon dosing. There will be one dominant strain of bacteria that will be present in the tank.
In your case, if you caught the low nutrient in faster time, you probably wouldn’t have cyano over take but perhaps manageable but that’s my theory. Now that cyano is gone, keep an eye on a some different strains of bacteria overtake or you might not have one.
