Added an extra ledge for a few more acros. Purple shelf rock. Check out how I propped up the top rock. . Amazingly, its super sturdy.

I decided to jump on the bandwagon of the Hanna Nitrate HR Checker and now that I have it, I really wish I did it much sooner.

I have used Salifert for years and I've always struggled to determine my actual Nitrate levels, but I always aimed for consistency, not a specific number, so it was fine. Well, I always had a hard time telling between 10 and 25, I just knew it was somewhere in between that. Today, I tested using both and it looks like I was closer to the 10ppm than I thought, Hanna read it at 10.2ppm.

Def worth the changeover to know where I stand.

Yes, I have one, but not much to show at the moment. My previous flaming unicorn didn’t have these bright yellow tips.

Some ORA frag I got a while back that I don’t recall the name of. Like a purple base with some hint of yellow on the tips.

then of course my favorite of all time Pink Lemonade. Just waiting for it to blow up.

Thanks. Finally just keeping it stable now. Was dealing with Dinos a bit but then started dosing phyto to help boost pod population and all of a sudden dinos started fading. Haven’t done anything different. Might be a coincidence. Nutrients remain the same with nitrates 4-10ppm and phosphates 7-10ppb

One last one for the night. A wild unknown, use to be all green, encrusted, then colored up nicely. Sitting at around 350 PAR up top.

I swear, this hobby annoys the hell out of me sometimes. You can try to do everything right and still...

I started this new tank with all brand new rock trying to avoid vermetid snails. Scrubbed all the branches on the torches before I put them in with h2o2 to try to prevent it, removed frags off plugs, etc. Still end up with it.

Same goes with asterina stars, not even sure how this even got in my system, but now I just manually remove 1-2 a day as I see them.

The latest and greatest that really pisses me off is aiptasia! I haven't added any LPS in months and when I did, as I said, I scrubbed the hell out of the skeleton. SPS all were removed off the frag plug, some that I couldn't, I cut the base off and grinded down the plug to the flesh along with h2o2 dip just below the flesh. I find one this weekend!! I made about 2 fl oz of kalkwasser, smothered the entire thing with it, then vacuumed out about 15g of water in the area. Ugh... This hobby.
