Vics CD 180G Peninsula

Are they pretty sensitive if I cut the foot up? Going to be my first time. Really hate how it got on this rock. I had it on the sandbed and some how it got blown up on this rock and spread like wild flower.
They do a good job healing for sure. I’ve done it with an OG bounce. He just wouldn’t move so I had to help him. Just try to get as much of the foot as you can but thankfully they are pretty resilient.

Decided to add some additional stages, cause why not and I only change once a year
  1. 10 micron sediment
  2. 1 micron sediment
  3. 5 micron carbon (chlorine)
  4. 5 micron carbon (chlorine)
  5. 1 micron carbon (chloramine)
  6. 1 micron carbon (chloramine)
  7. 150 gpd membrane / 75 gpd membrane as water saver (had it lying around, why not)
  8. DI resin

I had to raise my lights in order to reach to the back and clean. Also, it sitting on the legs on the lip of the tank was scary when I bumped it. As much as I hate hanging my lights, I think it turned out okay.

Went from 12” off the water to 18” and what a difference it makes for accessing the back glass for cleaning.

I am sure my PAR was impacted, but I been running the lights at 60%, so I just bumped them up to 70%, I should probably recheck my PAR soon tho.

They look awesome!

Took down my previous lights, built some mounts out of some wood painted black and some 10-32 bolts and nuts for my AI HMS rail. $27 for all the supplies. Not too shabby. For “Blues”, they sure are really white. For now, running it at 60% to match my previous PAR. They are so loud tho!!

Update and feedback on lighting upgrade from 6x Euroquatics A1P to 7x Radion G5 Blues.
It's been a week since the install, no real changes to corals (exactly what I was hoping).
I ended up removing the diffuser since at 15" above water, the color blending was fine and showed no difference, other than lost of PAR by about 5% 8"below surface.
Power consumption was significantly more by about 20%. I had to run the Radions at a higher intensity to match my previous lights, which stinks, but on a positive, PAR spread across the tank is much better.
For a unit called "BLUE", the color is very white and not what I expected. It took some time getting use to, but I am okay with it now.
The issue now is that the light is blinding across the room since I have the lights mounted at 15". I could lower it, but then it becomes a pain to work inside my tank. Now, I need to figure out some type of pully system that I can raise and lower it easily.
And my biggest pet peeve is how loud the fan is when it kicks on at 100%, but they don't run long since it just cools down the heat sink enough the cuts off again.

Sounds like a good build. Cant wait to see it. I am looking into a new build myself and was looking at CD tanks. Would like to know your thoughts on the finished product

CDA Tanks? Build quality is phenomenal, same as their customer service. This tank will last forever, between their double eurobracing up top, bottom bracing on the bottom, and armored seams at each corner. This tank will never leak. If I ever upgrade, which I doubt, my house isn't big enough, but if I do, it would be through CDA again.
