"Ecotech charges $50+ and it requires you shipping in your dry side"
This kind of stuff really p#$@es me off, $50+? That kind of price gouging makes me want to avoid a company, even if they do have a good product. Shows such little regard for their customers.
Isn't that absurd? As much as you pay already they can't make an affordable option.

I had picked up 2x MP40s, 2x Radion XR30 G4 Pros w/diffusers, Ecotech Battery Backup, Reeflink, & AquaticLife 48" Fixture from Thi (@tqpolo) for a great deal. Thanks!
I'm going to be using my 1st EcoTech products soon. I can't bring myself to buy their lights but with the powerheads and pumps there's nothing else on the market that will do what I want. Well, there are regular pumps that will work for the closed loop but the cost is double or triple the price of Vectra's.
I'm going to make a battery backup with a deep cycle battery of all these pumps. I'd need four or more of the Ecotech units and the cost to make one on a deep cycle will be at or less that of one of theirs. It will also last a lot longer.

Yeah, there is a great youtube vid on how to make your own battery backup buying parts directly from ecotech. You can save $100's if you're making multiple. I got one included with my ecotech buyout from Thi, so I just ordered a replacement battery from Amazon for $36 since the current one is going on 3.5 years.

I'm planning on backing up four MP60's and two L2's. The only thing I need to buy from Ecotech is two 36v booster cables for the L2's.
All six pumps will run for hours on the one deep cycle battery.

This diy mp40 cable extension is a pain!!! Crimping each connector is a pain!!! To make one cable, I would say it took me 40 min. Lol.

Tested and works with mobius and manual control. Took way longer than I’d like to admit on one. Hopefully the next 9 would be easier and I can list them for sale to recoup some cost. Had to buy a special crimper... ugh..

OH MAN!!! I am so excited, I'm shaking. So, my overall career goal is to be a Buyer. However, when you work at Costco and there are hundreds of talented employees and positions come around only every 10-15 years, the chances are very rare. Well, a few weeks back, I was invited to apply for a position. Mind you, this position is invitation only. Last week, go the interview, I think it went well, but considering how many talented people out there chances are still pretty tough. Today... I get the call. I just got promoted to Costco Buyer!!! Career goal met!!

That's awesome! I used to know a manager at the Duluth Costco. He always said it was a great company to work for. Congratulations on the promotion, or at least the new position!!!
