My epic 120g Build Thread

I think I have my final answer. Funny how life reverts back to its beginnings. I'm completely content to stack rocks for hours on end. Todays kids would be better off with just a sack of rocks and a little imagination.

Thanks! It's been a lot more fun taking the time to best navigate problems and come up with ideas than to rush it. I've had a ton of help along the way.
I have a feeling that my water bill will be going way up as a result of this coming week!:yay:

Seth, Looks great -

You will love the AI trust me ! how many you think you are going to need to run -
as I had mentioned in my video you might be able to get by with running them long ways -

saving a ton !

you getting the VDM and WXM modules for the APEX ? I have had no issues with mine plug and play - pretty cool that I can control everything on my system from my iphone (I travel a ton)

I have the VDM and have been looking for a used WXM but can't find one. So, I'll likely just get one from Aqua Cave. I was debating as to getting one at all but really like the gadget factor. Plus, at this point, I'm "All in" with the chips. What's one more thing going to hurt!

Quick update. RODI water is trickling in, gravel poured, and aqua-scaping is tentatively a go. (I think I need to find one more perfect piece of LR to complete the puzzle)
Here are some pics of the plumbing behind the tank and sump room after plumbing went in. I still have to do the plumbing for the RODI/Saltwater Brutes.

I am doing the "Bean Animal" method for my drains. I have a total of three. One primary, one secondary, and one that is a dedicated backup in case the other two drains get clogged. If you're familiar with the "Herbie Method", it's like that but with more drains. Should be whisper quiet.

I've nick named the big flat piece of rock in the middle of the tank as the "Millennium Falcon Piece" It looks eerily similar.

Of course, in keeping with reefer tradition I upgraded. I now have a Star Destroyer.

Thanks for your complements everyone! Conception officially happened today. (Start of the cycle) We might be able to close this thread out in another 4-6 weeks. The time frame that I thought this whole process would take!

Yeah, looking awesome.
Hope this cycles quick - some corals are now crammed in my system...

Congrats on converting to the dark side! Looks great!

While the cycle is happening I'm taking the opportunity to do some fluff work. Ammonia is at 0 and looks like all I'll have left in a day or two is Nitrates. Algae bloom is full throttle. Good sign I think.
