What the He ll is he doin!?!?!?!?!?

I wanted black edges fading naturally into the Red Mahogany stain. I didn't think I could pull it off using Ebony stain so I burned the edges and stained over it all. Here is the result....Like it or not. Keep in mind, it still needs to be clear coated.........

Turned out nice- reminds me of a sunburst guitar finish. R u going with a high-gloss or satin polyurethane?

Looks like I'm going to have to copy Big D, also! :D

Let's see the doors open!

Big D, I told you! You should have put a patent on that design!

Looking great Reefer! I love the dark edge idea turned out GREAT!

As for the lighter colored stain...I first stained it with a color called Merlot. It was much lighter as well as much more red. The contrast between the burned / unburned areas was a little much for my taste. I used red mahogany for the subsequent coats. I started painting the inside of both pieces with white enamel last night but school work has caught up with me so I may have to let it sit for a few days. Man, it's hard to sit here typing papers when I am so close to being able to set this puppy up! I had to take a short break to check in on you guys!
